What We Believe
Pueblo C.A.R.E.S. believes that a government takeover of our electric utility is risky, expensive, and with no guarantee that it will lower rates or provide reliable service. Independent studies show a government run utility is impractical and unlikely to succeed, as has been the case in Boulder.
We believe Pueblo and Southern Colorado can be a national and regional leader in the growth of a reliable, clean-energy economy and the customer savings and jobs it will bring. We believe that the
City of Pueblo should collaborate with the current energy provider that will result in a significant investment in economic development and job creation; which can help keep costs as low as possible by creating a larger customer base
